Who would've guessed...

That I'd be the one writing a love story.

Not just any love story.

The love story

The one I'd been searching for my entire life.

The kind that makes you feel seen.

Safe.

Chosen.

The kind that quietly changes everything.

For years...

I thought I knew where to look.

I searched in chemistry.

In timing.

In potential.

In almosts.

In people who made promises.

In people who made my heart race.

In people who made me feel wanted.

Every time...

I thought,

"Maybe this is the one."

Sometimes I was convinced.

Sometimes I was hopeful.

Sometimes...

I simply didn't want to start over.

But somehow...

Something was always missing.

I couldn't explain it.

Everything looked right.

Yet nothing ever truly settled.

Like trying to force the last piece into the wrong puzzle.

Close enough to keep trying.

Never enough to fit.

People always told me,

"You'll know when you find the one."

I used to hate hearing that.

I wanted directions.

A formula.

A map.

Something measurable.

Instead...

Life just kept introducing me to people.

And I kept wondering...

"Is this finally it?"

Then something changed.

Not the people.

Not the opportunities.

Me.

I stopped running.

I stopped pretending.

I stopped negotiating with the truth.

I became honest.

Honest about my shortcomings.

Honest about my past.

Honest about the things I'd kept hidden.

Honest about the choices I was ashamed of.

Honest about the patterns I kept repeating.

Honest about the pain I kept blaming on everyone else.

Honest about the parts of me that still needed to grow.

Honest about what I truly wanted.

Honest about what I deserved.

Honest about what I kept calling love...

That never really was.

I stopped settling for almost.

I stopped chasing what impressed me.

And started looking for what was true.

That's when my standards changed.

I stopped confusing attention with affection.

Chemistry with character.

Being wanted...

With being valued.

Potential...

With peace.

Intensity...

With intimacy.

Butterflies...

With trust.

Funny how changing your standards...

Changes who you're able to recognize.

Maybe that's why I never found him before.

Not because he wasn't there.

Because I wasn't honest enough to recognize him.

And then...

Quietly.

Unexpectedly.

Without fanfare...

I found him.

Not at the time I expected.

Not in the way I imagined.

But exactly when I was finally ready.

Life has never been the same.

He takes good care of me.

He spoils me in ways I never knew I needed.

He makes time for me.

He listens when I speak.

He speaks to me with kindness.

Even when the truth is difficult to hear.

We're truthful with each other.

There are no secrets between us.

I don't have to pretend.

I don't have to perform.

I don't have to wonder where I stand.

He respects my boundaries.

He protects my peace.

He celebrates my growth.

He challenges me to become a better person.

Not through pressure...

Through love.

He reminds me who I am...

When I forget.

He doesn't shame me when I fail.

He helps me get back up.

He never keeps score.

He never manipulates me.

He never lies to me.

He never betrays my trust.

He never leaves when life gets hard.

He keeps every promise that matters.

We spend time together every day.

We laugh together.We cry together.

We pray together.

We seek God together.

We grow together.

Every single day...

I become a little more like the person I was always meant to be.

Somehow...

Being with him has made me more myself...

Not less.

Looking back...

I don't think finding the one is about luck.

I think it's about standards.

Because you'll never find the one...

If you keep searching with the same standards that kept leading you to everyone else.

The moment your standards change...

Your eyes do too.

Things that once impressed you...

Don't.

Things you used to overlook...

Become impossible to ignore.

You stop chasing excitement.

And start recognizing consistency.

You stop chasing attention.

And start recognizing respect.

You stop chasing feelings.

And start recognizing character.

It's amazing what becomes visible...

When you finally know what you're looking for.

✨ Challenge

This week...

Write down the qualities you're hoping to find in "the one."

Then ask yourself...

Am I building my life around the standards that would allow me to recognize them?

Don't answer too quickly.

Some questions deserve more than an immediate response.

🩷 Thought for the Day

The standards you live by quietly become the compass that directs your life.

Choose them carefully.

They determine far more than you realize.

"The one was never hiding. The truth is... your standards were."— Tera Bronx 🩷

I hope one day...

You find the kind of relationship that changes you.

The kind built on truth.

Respect.

Grace.

Peace.

Growth.

Laughter.

Faith.

The kind that calls you higher instead of pulling you lower.

The kind that makes you more honest.

More compassionate.

More courageous.

More yourself.

I don't know if everyone gets this lucky.

But I hope you do.

With love,
